Celebrate 100 years of Black History Month!
iCAN, in partnership with BMS, Chaucer, Westfield Specialty, Markel and Arch International, invites you to celebrate Black History Month 2026 with a powerful evening of leadership, community, and connection.
2026 marks 100 years since the first organised national commemoration of Black history was established by Carter G. Woodson in 1926, making this year an important opportunity to reflect on the progress made, celebrate those creating change today and consider the legacy we want to build for the next generation.
We are delighted to welcome Christine Ohuruogu MBE as our keynote speaker.
An Olympic, World and Commonwealth Champion, Christine has represented Great Britain at the highest level of sport and built a career defined by resilience, discipline and achievement. Alongside her sporting success, she has remained committed to schools, young people and community engagement.
Following her keynote, attendees will have the opportunity to connect with colleagues from across the London insurance market, alongside students, apprentices, early-career professionals and community representatives.
The evening will also include a showcase of Black-owned businesses, celebrating entrepreneurship and creating opportunities to support businesses from across the community.

Why Attend:
This year’s Black History Month carries particular significance, marking a century since the first national Black history commemoration was established in 1926.
It gives us an opportunity not only to look back, but to ask what we want the next 100 years to look like.
Through Christine’s story, the Black-owned businesses taking part and the connections created between industry professionals and emerging talent, the evening will celebrate achievement while focusing on the opportunities we can create for those coming next.
