At iCAN, we believe that visibility matters. That’s why we created the Role Models book series - to celebrate the individuals in our industry who are not only thriving in their careers but actively championing diversity, equity and inclusion across insurance.
Each edition of the Role Models book shines a light on professionals from multicultural backgrounds who are breaking barriers, challenging perceptions and paving the way for others. Through their personal stories, reflections and advice, these role models demonstrate the power of representation and what’s possible when opportunity meets talent.
Since launching the first edition in 2019, our Role Models series has grown to reflect the breadth and depth of talent across the industry and has celebrated a total of 175 role models across the industry.

2025 – 80 Role Models for 8 Years of iCAN
Our most global edition yet, this edition features 80 role models, including 20 from the United States following iCAN’s expansion into the U.S. insurance market.
It reflects our continued commitment to international inclusion and cross-border collaboration.
Each person in this book has shared their story generously and openly – their career paths, the challenges they’ve overcome, what drives them and the lessons they’ve learned. These are not just success stories; they are real, relatable journeys that can guide, inspire and empower others navigating the insurance industry.
2023 – 60 Role Models for 6 Years of iCAN
Marking our sixth anniversary, this expanded edition highlighted 60 inspiring professionals making an impact in insurance – sharing honest insights into their challenges, achievements and the importance of creating inclusive spaces.
This brilliant group of people generously shared their personal and professional journeys, their challenges and achievements, their passions and aspirations and their advice and guidance for others who want to succeed in this industry.
They represent the rich talent already working in our sector, proving not only that the talent pool does exist, but that they’re already having a huge positive impact and carving the path for the next generation.
2019 - Our First Ever Role Models Book
Our first edition, created in collaboration with the CII, profiled 35 individuals from across the UK insurance sector, exploring how their cultural heritage has shaped their careers and influenced their leadership journeys.
The book explores the backgrounds of prominent international and multicultural role models from the UK insurance industry who discuss their diverse heritages, providing personal anecdotes on why their own cultural diversity was key in the advancement of their career goals.
The aim was to show you that no matter your walk of life, the insurance industry has a place for you - and this is your time to rise.
