This is a pre-ERG Blueprint Conference virtual session exploring how ERGs can translate activity into influence through communication!
In the run-up to the iCAN and Howlett Brown ERG Conference this April, join us for a high-impact virtual workshop, which will bring together ERG leaders, executive sponsors, DEI, HR and Talent professionals from across the insurance sector to explore what leading an ERG in 2026 will really require.
This interactive virtual session explores why some ERGs gain visibility, credibility and senior support, while others struggle to be heard – even when they are doing meaningful work.
Rather than focusing on volume of activity, this session looks at how your ERG’s language, narrative and framing will shape whether ERGs are listened to, funded and taken seriously. It introduces high-level communication and storytelling principles that help ERG leaders translate their work into influence, engagement and momentum.
About the Session
This session is designed as a pre-ERG Blueprint Conference taster, building awareness of why communication matters for ERGs today. It will share insight, reasoning and illustrative examples, without going into step-by-step frameworks. Those practical tools, exercises and communication strategy development will be explored in depth at the ERG Blueprint Conference itself.
Attendees will leave with greater clarity on how ERG communication expectations have evolved, why narrative and framing now matter more than activity alone, and what ERGs may need to rethink or unlearn in order to remain influential, credible and supported.

iCAN Connect facilitates conversation and discussions around major issues within DEI and allows participants the opportunity to share their own firm-wide initiatives and learn from others.
The group now stands at just under 450 strong from across the financial services and legal sectors.
We believe that sharing information and encouraging dialogue helps create better, more diverse businesses and a more inclusive sector for all.
