iCAN are excited to introduce RSA as a Silver Sponsor for 2024

iCAN is delighted to introduce RSA as a NEW sponsor for 2024 at our Silver level.

This sponsorship is a testament to RSA’s commitment to supporting ethnic minorities and international talents as well as contributing to the UK insurance industry becoming more ethnically diverse.

iCAN and RSA’s partnership will aim at promoting RSA’s culture, roles, and DEI initiatives in 2024 and we are excited to be working with Gemma Jackson along with the RSA team!

More about RSA

RSA is one of the world’s longest-serving general insurance companies. Their products help their clients manage life’s risks and make things right when they go wrong.

They’ve been at the heart of the insurance industry for more than 300 years. Today, they serve over 9 million customers around the world.

Their products are as diverse as their customers’ needs. From home and pet insurance to commercial insurance for businesses big and small.

Since becoming part of Intact Financial Corporation in 2021, They’re determined to do even more to support their customers. They’re optimising their operations, investing in new technology and finding better ways to help protect the things their clients care about.

The sponsorship

RSA’s sponsorship will support a wide range of iCAN’s ongoing and newly launched initiatives for 2024. The initiatives include our INspire self-serving mentoring platform and iCANConnect, a safe space for D&I leaders across the insurance industry, as well as our iCAN Apply Jobs Board which aims to give more access for our members to opportunities within the insurance industry.

In addition to these three main initiatives, the sponsorship will support the continuation of the Coffee with the CEO series and a range of virtual and in-person events for the 5,000+ members based in the UK and internationally.

Gemma Jackson, UK Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion said:

“It's no secret that insurance needs to do more to attract and retain ethnically diverse talent. There’s been broad consensus on this for some time, yet with all this positive intent, the change of pace requires us to make bolder actions if we want to see results.

“That’s why we’ve joined iCAN as a Silver Sponsor. The access to a vast pool of talent is unmatched and we’re excited to see our business benefit from an ever-broader range of lived experiences and perspectives.

”At RSA we’re also aware that fostering a truly inclusive environment is a separate discipline - there’s more to be done than simply getting more people from ethnically diverse backgrounds through the door. So, we’re thrilled to be able to benefit from the rich experience and knowledge of its DE&I network and mentoring offering. I’ve been a mentor with iCAN since March 2023 and have first-hand experience with the two-way benefit of mentoring.

“One of our first initiatives will be to roll out a cultural competency campaign for leaders and colleagues to help increase awareness of unconscious bias and of the need for all colleagues to contribute to an inclusive culture of curiosity and authenticity.”
